The Snow is a good thing in Yellowstone

As I return from a ride up to Mammoth Hot Springs a feeling of peace overcomes me.  The Bison are so comfortable in their Yellowstone resort.  All around you will find them either feeding on the  grass that does see better days in the Spring.  However, they are happy as many just lie around basking in the partial sun of the afternoon.  You see we have not had as much snow as the mid-west and the east.  We are all hoping that some snow will fall every day to cover the trails for all the cross country skiers and snow shoeing lovers.

At this time of the year the drive along the upper route to Cook City is special in its own way..  Everyone is on the look out for the wolves.  It is their prep time to get ready to mate.  Some pairs have already made a name for themselves as they show interest in each other in a loving way.  However, right now it is such a way for all visitors to gain a peaceful moments by just driving in from Gardiner and visiting the Mammoth Terraces.  Below are some photos of my trip yesterday.

Enjoy!

It was a special afternoon just enjoying the Terraces.  Winter and summer are so different.  Many people just come in the winter.  The beauty of this land in the winter is breathtaking is such a different way from the summer.

Hope you enjoyed a brief visit to Yellowstone via Experiosity.
